“Disruption is man’s best friend”

Volume 5, Issue 1 30.09.2011

I‘m sitting on an airplane on route to JHB and it’s the first time this month I have had time to stop and assess life, business and my journey. I happened to pick up a magazine my fiancé brought home a week ago, whilst flying out the front door this morning. It’s the September edition of Destiny man . It looked like a mag that could read and learn something from….

The first article I read is titled “disruption is man’s best friend”. Mmm perhaps something for me I think…

It reads: “Disruption is one of the most important words you need to embrace in this new era. There will come a time when you have to break with the old to embrace the new, to let go of what’s comfortable and convenient in order to grow and expand. Disruption leads to new discoveries…

If you are open, present and willing to pause and analyse what’s really going on and reflect on what you can learn from it. For individuals disruptions present an opportunity to refocus on what matters most, to de-clutter your heart, mind and soul, and to uncover hidden seeds of brilliance within you.

For businesses , disruptions offer a chance to modify your products/services to best align with current trends or to develop inventive, alternative products/ services. Shifting your business in response to or anticipation of consumer demand ensures your organization will remain relevant and profitable in an ever-changing economy.”

Disruption should be my middle name! In fact it should be all of our middle names. It is the difference between floating your boat vs sinking your ship in this very exciting economy. I know from many of our discussions that the defining difference between those of us that are loving this “exciting time”; trying: yes, challenging:yes , but mostly exciting, is that we choose to seek opportunity rather than play the “woa is me” tune. Now, more than ever , we have to keep reinforcing our foundations. That means excelling beyond customer expectation, delivering a “yes” attitude and being one step ahead of the rest.

It also reconfirms our decision to risk the investment into a new facility and move our existing business to a better premises.( Team MEG is tired of the basement, the building seems to be getting emptier and looking worse for wear.)

Most of you are aware that we are in a building project at DHS old boys club, launching in April/May next year. We are taking on a larger premises and also becoming part of the whole medical / sport and wellness center. The vision for the center is that KZN finest specialists under one roof. I’m equally excited that we were invited to join his group of dynamic individuals, all our hard work has earned us some respect in the industry. Well done team MEG! We are only as strong as each other.
We thank you our loyal patrons, in advance, for all your ongoing support, we know that you will love our new “home” .

Speaking of being ahead of the rest… In March this year I became involved in a distribution of anti aging tools , along side the ex- owners of Dermalogica SA, to the professional Skincare centers in South Africa. The idea was to narrow the gap between the type of anti aging therapy we offer vs what Dr’s offer in botox and plastic surgery. MEG was the launch pad for the distribution and we were the first to incorporate BT Gear into our treatment menus. The micro current technology is patented as “Suzuki Sequencing” , and there is no other micro current technology on the market that works on this type of alternating wave length that changes every .25 seconds. This is important as collagen and elastin fibers are stimulated at different hertz. Clinical trials show us that over20 consecutive days of skins being exposed to Bt Micro micro current, the collagen fibers increase by 48% and collagen increase by 14% Wow!
Since then we have run a series of courses on our clients and have incredible photos and testimonies to share with you.

Our Bt nano offers 5 different programs namely:

  • The Bt cocktail lift (non surgical face lift)
  • Platinum touch (anti aging with micro current for the hands)
  • Expression lift (muscle re educational and anti aging for the eyes specifically)
  • Acne clearing treatment Super product penetration through iontophoresis micro current.

Important:

It’s pain free!
The results are best in a course of treatments: 1treatment per week for six weeks for long term and remarkable results. Maintenance requires a single treatment per month thereafter. It’s as simple as that.

If you have an important function and would like your skin to look tight, lifted and younger, you can also have a once off, however the results will only be temporary!

The pricing of the treatments is R300 per treatment, but if you include it in your skin treatment or in the case of the manicure with the Platinum touch treatment, it’s an additional R 200 .

One of our young adults Bianca emailed me just today to tell me how the course of Bt acne clear treatment has cleared her acne breakouts and reduced her scarring. She has been blemish free for the whole month!

My mum has told me she has noticed a 50% reduction on the depth of her wrinkles and I arrived at a dinner last week to be asked if I had botoxed my forehead!

So as summer draws nearer and Christmas knocks on our door, I trust that you will embrace disorder and enjoy the excitement behind the looming Christmas holidays. Use every mountain you face as a new exciting new opportunity to learn a new skill and that you master the art of smiling in the face of challenges. (hahahaha, I laugh in the face of that dreaded word “ageing” for I finally have a solution). May the close to this year be as exciting for you as it will be for us, your favorite skin and body experts!
The challenge is on, you have to try something new… and our new Bt Nano lift series on offer is the ideal way to start!

Ciao for now,

Shana

Nearly 400 salons and spas nationwide are joining Dermalogica in celebrating women’s empowerment and entrepreneurship in March.

The mission of Join FITE (www.joinFITE.org) is to help a minimum of 25,000 women in the U.S. and 56 countries around the world to start or grow a business through consumer and corporate active participation in microlending. The majority of the microloans will be extended to women in non-industrialized countries, who live below the internationally defined poverty-line. Dermalogica accounts across the country will generate client donations to the cause by organizing FITE fundraising events for their customers.
